A 37-year-old Brandon man was sentenced to 30 years in prison by a Madison County judge last week for gratification of lust for forcing two children to perform sexual acts on him.

Tracy Cornelius Ellis was found guilty by a Madison County grand jury in February and will be required to serve every day of his sentence. Once released, Ellis will be required to register as a sex offender.

Ellis was arrested in January 2018 by the Ridgeland Police Department after the mother of one of the sisters spoke to law enforcement about sexual abuse allegations.

According to prosecutors, Ellis forced the girls to perform sexual acts on him in his bedroom and the family living room. He threatened them if they told anybody about the acts.

Madison County District Attorney John K. Bramlett Jr. called Ellis a “sick individual” who “preyed upon young girls.”

“This sentence should serve as a reminder that violating a child will not be tolerated in Madison County,” Bramlett added. “Ellis stole the innocence from two little girls and his sentence clearly reflects the consequences of his unlawful and sick actions.”

He added, “I hope the family and the victims can find some peace in knowing that Ellis will spend the next 30 years in jail and will not be able to hurt another child.”
