CANTON - Bond was denied for Eugenio Nolasco, a Mexican immigrant accused of hacking a neighbor to death with a machete on Aug. 16.

Nolasco, 43, is charged with the murder of 43-year-old Jose Alphonso Rosas Tolentino, also of Canton.

Both suspects are from Mexico by lived in the trailer park on Westside Drive.

According to Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker, the victim had obvious neck trauma and investigators found a machete at the scene.

The confrontation apparently stemmed from a love triangle involving both men and an unidentified female.

Witnesses say the two men worked together for a private landscaping company and had had confrontations on the job, too.

It is not clear whether these confrontations at work were related to the woman, whom they both shared an interest.

Nolasco was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Carthage on Aug. 20 and remains held at the Madison County Detention Center in Canton where he awaits trial.
