Madison Alderman-at-Large Warren Strain is currently in a coma at St. Dominic in Jackson following a stroke Monday morning, his wife Sandra Strain announced on Facebook this morning.

Sandra said her husband was scheduled to have a simple back surgery that morning but before arriving to the hospital he suffered a “massive brain bleed and a stroke.”

She said the next 48 hours are “critical” and that the coma is not medically-induced.

Sandra is asking for continued prayers.

Madison Mayor Mary Hawkins Butler is also asking for the community to pray for Strain to recover. She often states that Madison is the city that prayer built and is asking for residents to come together again and pray in this instance.
