JACKSON - St. Dominic Memorial Hospital has plans to renovate and expand the current Emergency Department located on its main campus to the tune of over $40 million.

The hospital received a Certificate of Need from the Mississippi State Department of Health last week.

According to the MSDH, "The project will be a phased construction project that will allow for the expansion while allowing the current Emergency Department to remain open and in operation without a reduction in service."

Andy North, director of marketing and communications for St. Dominic, said there were no details of the project he could share at this point.
