Boots & BBQ



The sixth annual Boots & BBQ to benefit Hope Hollow Ministries will feature the Mississippi Classic Cruisers this year.

This year's event will run from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. and tickets are $8 per person.

Come enjoy facepainting, bounce palace, games, music, classic cars and BBQ.

Hope Hollow is located at 910-A-Catlett Road in Canton.



Metro Masters Plant Sale



The Metro Master Gardeners will hold their annual plant sale on April 13. This plant sale will be held at Mynelle Gardens located at 4736 Clinton Boulevard in Jackson. Hours of the sale are 8 a.m. until noon.

All plants offered for sale at this annual event are propagated by member Master Gardeners from Hinds, Rankin, Madison, and Copiah Counties. Our heirloom perennials, bulbs, rhizomes, tubers, shrubs, trees, and other plants are hardy native and naturalized plants that will continue to do well when planted in this area.

After your plant purchase, the public is invited to enjoy a leisurely stroll through Mynelle Gardens.

Montessori Silent Auction



The Montessori Children's House will host its annual silent auction on April 19. The public is encouraged to attend the event, which will be held at the school.

There is no charge to attend. Cajun cuisine will be served. Auction items include gift certificates, services, art and more.

Arts on the Square



Friday and Saturday will be Arts on the Square in Canton as over 20 artists make their way to the historic city. There will be live music in restaurants Friday and on the square Saturday. The event is from 4 p.m.-8p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

Arts for Autism



Highland's Hands, a community outreach club at Highland Elementary, will host Arts for Autism on Thursday, April 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the school, located at 330 Brame Road (off Highland Colony Pkwy.) in Ridgeland. The proceeds of the event will benefit Autism Speaks, the world's leading autism science and advocacy organization. A family-friendly event, Arts for Autism will include a silent auction, Stella & Dot jewelry sale, an art sale by the school's autism classes, cupcake walk, raffle drawing, inflatables for the kids, face painting and more. Little Light House Golfing



A golf tournament to support the Little Light House will be held at Castlewoods Country Club in Brandon. There will be two 18-team divisions. This will be a 3-person scramble with two teams per hole.

Day at the Derby



This is the fourth annual "Day at the Derby" to benefit University of Mississippi Medical Center transplant patients.

It is being held this year at The Cotton Market Venue in Rankin County.

Get ready for a fundraising event that will knock your hat off.

Ladies are encouraged to wear their best Derby style hat, and men are encouraged to wear colorful ties.

There will be a winner for the most original hat and tie, so don't be bashful about putting your ensemble together.

The Jackson All Star band will provide music, and you will have the opportunity to watch the Kentucky Derby on large screen TVs while enjoying food and drink.

They will also have a silent auction and a draw down to raise funds for transplant patients. Finish the evening with dancing to the Dirty Laundry Band.

Heatwave Classic Triathlon



Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi and Ridgeland Recreation & Parks will host the 28th annual Heatwave Classic Triathlon. Some of the finest athletes from the Southeastern United States will converge on Ridgeland, Mississippi to compete in the triathlon, an event sanctioned by the U.S.A. Triathlon.

Participants return each year because they love the race course.

This year's race will consist of a half mile swim in the Ross Barnett Reservoir, a 24-and-a-half mile bike ride along the scenic and historic Natchez Trace Parkway, and ending with a 10K run along Ridgeland's heavily shaded Multi-Purpose Trail.
