Chad Mars Art S howing
Jackson Academy and Ole Miss graduate Chad Mars is having an art show at Lounge Interiors at 1491 Canton Mart Road #10 in Jackson from 5-8 p.m.
Susan Carter Hall, a Jackson Prep graduate who now lives in Los Angeles, will also show artwork during the show.
This is Mars' first art showing and the work will hang through the end of November. All of the artwork is abstract. Wine and cheese will be provided.

The Family Research Association of Mississippi is hosting a FREE Genealogy Workshop Saturday, Nov. 10, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Brandon Library on Hwy 80 East. Guest speaker for the first session is Sue Patterson who will speak on several topics of interest including how to search for certain types of records. After lunch, the second session will include using the computers in the Genealogy Room of the library with the aid of experienced researchers and how to solve those "Brick Walls" and other research problems.

Bama Alumni Meeting
The University of Alabama Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter will host its fall meeting on Monday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. The chapter's special guest will be Eli Gold, radio voice of the Crimson Tide.
The meeting will be held at Georgia Blue in Madison. Entry fee is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Memberships are available at the door. The meeting is open to both alumni and fans.

Shrek the Musical

Victorian Christmas Festival
Canton, the "City of Lights," comes alive each holiday season with attractions and events for young and old alike. From the Victorian Festival to old-fashioned carousel rides, you'll find something to tickle your holiday fancy.
Ballet Mississippi is presenting two full-length performances of The Nutcracker on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Thalia Mara Hall in Jackson exclusively for school groups.
