The Merit Health Madison outpatient physical therapy clinic, located in the hospital’s medical office building at 163 River Oaks Drive, Suite 106 in Canton, is now open.

“We are proud to add physical therapy to the services offered in our medical office building at Merit Health Madison,” CEO Brit Phelps said. “As we are the only hospital in Madison County, this will provide expanded access to care for our patients both in the county and beyond.”

The 3,605 square foot clinic can provide the following services:

• General orthopedic and sports rehab

• Post-surgical recovery

• Neurological services

• Pelvic health and women's care

• Myofascial release

• Manual therapy techniques to reduce pain and restore motion

• Injury prevention education

The clinic also addresses work-related injuries, sports injuries, accidents and complications resulting from complex medical conditions, general debility and effects of the aging process. The clinic will offer functional capacity evaluations to safely return workers to their previous jobs or recommend necessary modifications, as needed, to reintegrate them into the workforce.

“Our commitment to working one-on-one with our patients is what makes our clinic unique in the rehab environment,” Regional Director of Therapy Operations Chris Hannibal, PT, DPT, said. “We believe a therapist's hands are their best clinical tools, and that patients only truly heal as a result of that personal and physical component of touch.”

For more information, call (601) 855-4855. Clinic hours are 7:30 am - 5 pm, Monday through Thursday and 7:30 am - Noon on Friday. While a prescription from a primary care physician will be required to begin therapy services, the clinic can contact your physician on your behalf. Most insurance is accepted, as well as Medicare, Medicaid, Workers’ Comp, and private pay.
